Now I love pre-workout just as much as the next pre-addicted stim junkie, but sometimes even I, the great Jayden Pollard, do need to taper off a bit.
But since I don’t want to go completely cold turkey, in fear of turning into a mindless zombie I instead opt to take non-stim pre workout.
Yes, there is such a thing as stim free pre-workout, and it is still worth taking. Which is why today I want to share with you the best stim free pre workout!
Well, 5 of the best stim free pre workouts, or non-stim, caffeine free, whatever you want to call it.
So if you’re ready to build some muscle, shred some fat, and maybe even hit legs, let’s talk pre workout.
What Is The Best Stim Free Pre Workout?

Now to hold the title of the best stim free pre workout, there is a criteria to be met. My personal criteria for a caffeine free pre workouts looks something like this:
- It must provide a sufficient amount of energy in a non stimulatory way
- It must help increase power input, and muscular endurance
- It must provide me with an absolutely muscle tearing pump
- There must be a sufficient amount of servings
- The ingredients must be properly dosed
- It must be somewhat affordable
- It can’t taste like absolute dog water
Ok, in my opinion, to be considered the best stim free pre workout, you must meet at least 6 out of these 7 requirements.
With that out of the way let’s get into the list.
Best Stim Free Pre Workout #1: Pump Serum Stim Free Pre-Workout

In my opinion, this is the best stim free pre workout on the market by far. Huge supplements pump serum makes up for its lack of caffeine with absolutely mind-blowing pumps.
The formula contains an absolutely absurd 8000 mg of L-citrulline, 2000 mg of beetroot extract, and 1500 mg of nitrosigine, which are the main ingredients that contribute to the absolutely muscle tearing pumps of pump serum.
You should look to add some good pump exercises into your routine while using huge supplements pump serum, as to get some sick Instagram photos.
The formula also contains 1500 mg of tyrosine, which is a non-stimulatory focus-boosting ingredient.
All of the ingredients are highly dosed, which gives each serving tons of value. The price per container is 55$, which is pretty pricey considering that you only get 25 servings per container.
There are 4 flavour options. You can pick between jungle juice, strawberry mojito, cherry berry, and island dream.
It’s the best stim-free pre workout bodybuilding; it’s the best stim-free pre workout for women, it is the best stim free pre workout overall, which is why it takes the number one spot on my list.
Best Stim Free Pre Workout #2: Transparent Labs Stim-Free Pre Workout

Transparent Labs Stim Free Pre Workout, is an amazing non stim pre workout for those of you who are looking for a non stimulatory energy, and focus boosting formula.
It is one of the best caffeine free pre workouts on the market, and does it’s job well, as it contains 1,000mg of the amino acid tyrosine, which will help with your overall mood, focus, and concentration while training.
The formula also contains 6000 mgs of citrulline malate which will equate to an absolutely monstrous pump in the gym.
It also contains 4000 mgs of beta alanine so prepare for some mad butt hole itching.
The price is 50$, or $1.70 per serving. A bit cheaper then the huge supplements pump serum, at the cost of having much less pump ingredients.
Overall it’s one of the best caffeine free pre workouts on the market, and I would totally recommend that you give it a try!
Best Stim Free Pre Workout #3: Kaged Pre-Kaged Non-Stim Pre Workout

Despite the stupid name kaged pre-kaged non-stim pre workout is one of the best caffeine free pre workouts on the market.
If you’re looking for a great non stim formula Kaged Pre-Kaged Non-Stim has you covered.
The formula is designed to help with performance and recovery, as it contains 6,500 mg of citrulline, 2500 mg of betaine, and 1600 mg of beta-alanine, which are all ingredients that will help with your performance in the gym.
By performance, I mean 20% muscular endurance and 80% pump enhancing (because that’s what really dictates performance in the gym).
Kaged Pre-Kaged also contains 1.5 grams of creatine, which can contribute to your total daily creatine intake; however, you will need to pair this with a proper creatine supplement to get any actual strength and muscle-building benefits out of it.
It also contains a “proprietary blend” of superfoods to help with recovery. Now I would have rather them disclose the ingredients rather than hide behind a proprietary label, but I the superfoods are a nice addition to the formula regardless.
Now there are only 2 flavours, but when discussing the cons pros of pre workouts, as long as it doesn’t taste like complete hog wash, I’m statisfyed.
In terms of price, you’re only getting 20 servings for $45, so either be prepared to empty your wallet or only use this 2 times per week.
If you’re a double scooper, well, this may not be your best choice when looking for a stim free preworkout unless you’re willing to drop some major coin.
Overall it’s a solid stim free preworkout, and one of the better ones on the market.
Best Stim Free Pre Workout #4: Sicario Stim Free Pre Workout

Sicario Stim Free Pre Workout is another great stim free pre workout. Sicario stim free preworkout is absolutely loaded with ingredients.
6 grams of 3D pump formula, which is mainly L-citrulline, and glycerol. 3.2 grams of beta-alanine. 3 grams of arginine nitrate. 3 grams of betaine anhydrous. And lastly, 3 grams of L-tyrosine for focus.
Now those aren’t all of the ingredients; however, those are the most notable.
Now those ingredients are per 2 scoops, as that is the recommended serving size. However, if you were to only use 1 scoop, just cut those numbers in half for the single-scoop dosages.
For flavours, you can pick between either cherry creamsicle, blue razz lemonade, and peach rings.
Pretty solid options in my eyes. For price, you’ll be paying about $54 for 20 maxed-out servings, or 40 half servings, depending on how tight your budget is.
Over it’s a great stim free pre workout, and one of the better ones on the market.
Best Stim Free Preworkout #5: Bare Knuckle Non-Stim Pre-Workout

Aside from the mid-2000s ultra-edgy branding, the bare-knuckle non stim pre-workout is actually one of the better caffeine free pre workouts on the market.
It is loaded with ingredients containing 8000 mg of L-citrulline. 3200 mg of beta-alanine. 3000 mg of arginine nitrate. 2500 mg of betaine anhydrous. And 2000 mg of L-tyrosine.
Those are not all of the ingredients, however those are the most notable.
Now you can get bare knuckle in 4 different flavours. Strawberry match tea. Sour Apple. Root Beer. And orange cream.
The price is steep, coming in at $60 for 20 servings or 40 under-dosed half servings.
You’re essentially paying $3 per scoop when buying bare-knuckle non stim pre-workout. Overall it’s a solid stim free preworkout, that would be a great addition to any training plan.
Personally, I’m more of a stimulant guy, but for any of you looking for stim-free products to use on your personal fitness journey, any of the above should satisfy your needs.
What To Look For When Choosing A Stim Free Preworkout
Alright, when choosing a stim free pre workout here’s some things to take into consideration:
- It must have a good cost per serving
- It must contain an adequate amount of ingredients per serving
- The ingredients must be high quality
- The pre workout must contain non stim focus enhancing ingredients
- Your stim free preworkout must have a good amount of pump ingredients
- And lastly, your stim free preworkout must-have performance enhancing ingredients
Your choice of stim free preworkout should be able to meet and even exceed these expectations. The caffeine free pre workouts on this list do all of these things, and do them well, so you won’t have to look far.
Non Stimulant Pre Workout Vs Stimulant Pre Workout (Which One Is Better?)
Ah, the age-old question. Which is better, stim free preworkout, or stim pre workout?
Well, like most fitness-related questions, it depends.
The Pros Of Stim Free Preworkout
Now there are many pros to taking non stim pre, over stim pre workout.
For one, you will never build up a tolerance to stim pre workout, as it has no caffeine. You can take it as much as you want without having to take breaks and cycle off, granted your wallet can afford it.
Also, you if you don’t react well to caffeine or stimulants in general, taking a stim free preworkout can give you the boost in performance you’re looking for without the negatives that come with taking stims.
Another group that can benefit from taking stim free preworkout, are those who train at night, or close to bedtime. Taking a stim pre workout right before bed can totally screw with your recovery, and result in you getting no sleep.
And lastly, non stim/caffeine free pre workouts are much less addictive than stim pre workout. As a result, if you stop taking your stim free preworkout you won’t notice a huge dip, if any dip in performance when training without it.
Whereas with stim pre workout, if you decide to come off after taking it non stop you’ll probably have a few lack luster workouts, as your body adjusts to having to raw dog your training again.
However, this can be avoided if you limit your stim pre workout use, and use it smartly.
The Pros Of Stim Pre Workout

So by the image, you can probably tell that I am a bit biased, but stim pre workout, will always, and forever be superior to stim free preworkout.
It’s like comparing non-alcoholic wine to a bottle of don julio. They’re just not the same. I mean, throughout my fitness journey I have rarely if ever used stim free preworkout.
I love caffeine; I love stimulants, and I love getting cracked out of my tree before a workout. It’s as simple as that.
I your gonna use a stim free preworkout, it’s usually because you’re trying to resensitize your body to stim pre workout again. Or your training to close to bedtime, but still want to use some sort of pre.
In any of those cases, just forego the non stim crap, and go raw your workout.
In all seriousness, if you like caffeine free pre workouts they will benefit you, and will enhance your performance. How as a former and current stim junkie as myself, the closer I can get to a brain aneurysm, the better.
When To Cycle Off Of Pre Workout
Now, this a tricky subject as, in some cases, you will never actually have to cycle off of caffeine free pre workouts. I mean, you can’t get hungover if you keep drinking, the same goes for pre.
You can’t suffer from caffeine withdrawals if you stay cracked out.
Now this will all depend on whether you start to develop a tolerance to your pre workout or not, which if you do, you’ll probably have to start using more in order to feel the buzz again.
It basically depends on how much you train, how much you’re willing to spend, and how much you care about your heart health.
People Who Should Cycle Off Of Pre
Now, if you train 4+ days a week and use pre workout every time you train, you may have to come off for a week or 2.
If you have a tight budget and can’t afford to keep up a steady supply of gorilla mode, you may want to consider cycling off to let your tolerance cool down, and your funds build up.
If you have a history of heart and cardiovascular issues, you may want to consider using high-dosed stim pre workout with caution, as although most stim pre workout is completely harmless if you use it in combination with coffee or energy drinks it may start to cause some minor issues.
And lastly for any of you who build up a high tolerance to caffeine quickly(like myself) may benefit from taking a break before you have to start triple scooping to feel anything.
People Who Can Stay On Year Round
If you have the money to fund a year-long pre workout bender and are smart with your caffeine use, I don’t see why you would have to come off.
Now, if you have the money but aren’t smart with your caffeine use, well, you can still stay on; you’re just gonna have to keep upping the dose.
You’ll probably have to pair this with some sort of sleep aid as well. Unless you’re ok with only sleeping 6-5 hours a night(which you shouldn’t).
